In August 2021, scholarship funds were extended again by Cytowski & Partners to support financial aid for the second batch of Central and Eastern European (CEE) students and academics studying for advanced degrees at Stanford Law School. This support was provided in memory of Marcel Konigsberg, a blind Polish Jewish lawyer and alumnus of Jan Kazimierz University, in Lviv, who died during the Holocaust.

The financial aid fund is available to CEE students for the 2021–22 academic year and is a continuation of the firm’s commitment, which started in August 2020.

We would also like to congratulate Janka Deli a Hungarian SJD candidate at Stanford Law for becoming the first recipient of the 2020 scholarship. Janka has been focusing her research on the rule of law and stock markets. In her research originally started in Hungary and continued at Stanford Law she examined if there is a causal relationship between decrease in democratic standards and foreign portfolio investments.

Students from the following countries are eligible for the scholarship: Albania, Belarus, Bosnia & Hercegovina, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia. CEE students who have secured admission to Stanford Law School and have demonstrated financial need are eligible for fellowship funding to pursue advanced degrees, including the highly selective Masters of Laws Program (LLM) and Doctor of the Science of Law (JSD) program. These are the most advanced degrees conferred by the law school.

By providing these scholarship funds, Cytowski & Partners intends to encourage future CEE legal leaders interested in understanding the dynamics of law, science and technology and looking to explore legal innovation created in the Bay Area. As with the other scholarships at Stanford, admissions and aid decisions are made exclusively and independently by Stanford Law School.

With pride and honor we are happy to support the peoples and nations of CEE at Stanford Law.
